Kill the Farm Boy /~/ Delilah S. Dawson and Kevin Hearne

– This book was honestly so funny but there were times when it felt a little bit forced (crepuscular lord, however, is a joke that gets brownie points from the nerd within me)

– The whole thing read like a really long picture book for teenagers and I loved it so much

– The whole purpose of this book: to twist literally every Chosen One trope ever… and it did that in the most ridiculous way possible

– Like, not really a spoiler but spoiler alert: deaths were so awkwardly funny and absolutely not dramatic- like, I can’t say much but it was really weird and i loved it because it wasn’t dramatic

– It was so hard to get into this story and it was very, very, VERY slow- to the point that it put me in a slump

– Kind of related to the slowness- most of this book was journeying and i really couldn’t stand that so even though it’s one of the few thing that is wrong with this book, it’s a really big problem

Favorite Quotes:

“Moths?” Lord Toby whispered in the voice of a tiny little boy, his eyes unfocused in the distance. “Moths diving and swooping for the lights in my eyes, intent on sucking out my soul?” (I saw this and immediately thought of one (1) meme)

“You heinous witch!” Staph shrieked, her hair standing out like she was about to get struck by lightning. “That was a gift from my Aunt Strep! It was all I had left of her!” (I finally got the reference their names are Staph (as in Staphylococcus) and Strep, so thy’re diseases)

Overall rating: 2/5
